Drammen Bridge

Located directly on the central axis of Drammen, connecting the two squares of Strømsø and Bragernes, the new bridge is set to become a major landmark for the city and a cherished public space. The bridge replaces an existing vehicular bridge from 1935 to better accommodate the pedestrian use of the connection and enable the InterCity train expansion required for Drammen Station.

Light Bureau are working closely with an international team of architects and engineers including SAAHA, Knight Architects, Degree of Freedom, Norconsult and Asplan Viak on the design of the bridge, coordination with the station expansion and the connection and integration of the bridge where it meets the square at either end.
