Light Bureau marks 15 years as an Independent Lighting studio this month. Having started life as Indigo Light Planning back in 1999, the practice rebranded as Light Bureau in 2007. During this time, the studio has established itself as one of the most respected and leading practices in Europe, a status consistently reflected in its awards and speaking invitations to industry events.
Practice Principal, Paul Traynor, is a former ELDA & PLDA President, and visiting lecturer at the award-winning Wismar University distance learning Master’s Degree program. He commented, “Independent Lighting Practices were something of a rarity when we took a leap 15 years ago. Since then, we’ve seen many changes in the profession and look back with a sense of pride in having played our part in helping develop the talent pool as well as the status of the profession”.
Light Bureau is now looking forward to the next 15 years. “Our view is that the profession will see even greater changes in the coming years and at a faster pace. We are looking forward to developing further with those changes” continued Traynor. “We are moving in new directions as a practice. Strategic and International work now comprises the most significant proportion of our output and this looks set to continue. In order to showcase this, we have launched a totally new website this week with new striking content and a refreshed identity”.
“Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our design partners & clients, colleagues past & present, suppliers and education partners for all of their support over the years. Here’s to the next fifteen.”
