Raufoss Riverpark

The town centre of Raufoss is undergoing significant development with the addition of a new school, shopping centre and multiple residential developments.

At the initiative of Vestre Toten Municipality, CTRL+N and Light Bureau are working to reinvigorate and redevelop the promenade along the river flowing through the town centre. The goal is to maintain and enhance the natural qualities of the site by making effective, but low key upgrades to the path. Retaining walls, benches and signs made from corten steel are introduced and is designed to blend into the natural environment. Light is integrated within the added landscape elements and illuminates parts of the path, but more importantly, the area surrounding the path to make the space legible and give the users a feeling of security and control.

The development of the area is phased with the introduction of lighting to the waterfall in 2016 with subsequent parts, including a viewing platform and gallery space, being developed in the coming years.
