Lundin HQ

Rapidily expanding, differently thinking, oil company Lundin Norway have moved into refurbished offices at Strandveien 4-8. The interior design by IARK along with the environmental graphic design and visual identity designed by Scandinavian Design Group, create a strong tie between the building interior, Lundin’s brand and the way Lundin work.

The space planning ensures effective collaboration between the different departments of the company whilst the choice of contrasting metal and wooden finishes tell the story about Lundin’s activities. When searching for oil, treasures are found beneath the hard ocean surface – in the case of the building, warm pockets of wood are revealed behind a cold steel exterior.

Lighting helps tell this story and further emphasise the contrast between the warm and bright wood and the dark and cold steel. Bespoke lighting details were designed by Light Bureau and realised as part of the joinery package by Buskerud Spesialinnredning. By making light an integrated part of the joinery, adding foreign materials to the story was avoided and focus could remain on the feature interior design elements.
